This series began back in 1996, when I decided I was a photographer, got myself an old Pentax, and went out looking for subjects. One of my very first photographs (which I've included here), one which I got that feeling for the first time when you know you've made a good shot, was of a set of stairs. Ever since I've been drawn to them...

These photographs were taken through an Anscoflex or an Ansco Rediflex. This technique can be tricky for focus and exposure, and carrying around the strange, cumbersome contraption can be awkward but for me the end result makes it all worth it
